The Aljaževa pot is a 10-kilometre hiking trail from the centre of Selnica to Sveti Duh na Ostrem vrhu and is suitable for a day trip of around three hours. It leads over the ridges of the Kozjak past old farmsteads and through untouched nature, offering views of the Drava Valley.
Nature and Trails
Another route is the Lovsko naravoslovna učna pot. It comprises ten stations and requires a little more than two hours of relaxed walking.
Cycling Route
A new 700-metre section of cycle path was built for the Drava Cycling Route, connecting Selnica with Ruše. The Drava Cycling Route passes the HE Fala hydroelectric power plant and continues in Selnica ob Dravi along the Jabolčna pot towards Ruše.
Culture
The Hodnik family's Čevljarska zbirka dates back to the 1930s and includes business documents, tools and shoe models. The museum of the HE Fala hydroelectric power plant preserves the original machine hall with a horizontal Francis turbine and is designated as a cultural monument of national importance. Visits to the HE Fala Museum are possible for groups of at least five people by prior arrangement.
The parish church of “St Margaret” probably has Romanesque origins, a Gothic choir and tower, as well as later Baroque alterations. Chapels were added in 1730 and 1760. Within the municipality of Selnica ob Dravi, Viltuš Castle is a cultural monument of national importance with cultural-historical, landscape, art-historical and architectural, and historical significance. In the official decree, it is described as a characteristically Romantic-designed castle from the late 19th century in Slovenia.
