Culture

The present-day neo-Romanesque Church of St Bartholomew, dating from the late 19th century, is a prominent feature of the townscape. The Church of Mary of the Seven Sorrows is Gothic in essence and was remodelled in the 17th century. It is the oldest church in the parish and was first mentioned in 1453. Its location is clearly defined: the church stands on a steep, rocky hill above Vojnik's market square. Inside are organs that rank among the oldest and most beautiful in Slovenia.

The Church of Mary of the Seven Sorrows is connected to St Florian's Church by a staircase lined with three renovated chapels. Trg Vojnik is also part of the historic townscape and is protected as a monument of historic urban architecture. Sacred buildings, a named square and the staircase with its three renovated chapels thus come together here.

Nature

The Gozdna učna pot Modrijanov begins at St Florian's Church in the market square of Vojnik and ends at the mountain hut on Tomaž.
