Vranov nad Topľou can be explored through several specific places and offerings. Landscape, digital history interpretation, Jewish remembrance culture, sacred art and heated water provide different ways of experiencing the town. Between an educational trail with a viewpoint, historical stations and significant architectural and memorial sites, a multifaceted picture emerges in which nature and culture are closely situated side by side.

Nature and Trails

The Lesnícky náučný chodník is 2.5 km long and has an elevation gain of 70 m. Its information panels also contain content in English. At a viewpoint along the Lesnícky náučný chodník, visitors can enjoy a view of the Slanské vrchy volcanic mountains. The route is therefore clearly defined by its specific length, elevation gain, the language of the information panels and the explicitly mentioned landscape view, while the viewpoint directs the view beyond the trail to the Slanské vrchy.

The route can thus be classified using two clear measurements: the kilometre figure describes its length, while the elevation gain describes the difference in elevation along the trail. The viewpoint supplements these route details with the named landscape view and associates the viewpoint with the same educational trail.

History with Digital Stations

The Virtuálny historický chodník uses stations marked with QR codes. These stations include photographs of buildings or memorial sites. Scanning the QR codes makes texts or audio recordings available in Slovak and English. The trail tells residents and visitors more about the history of Vranov nad Topľou. The historical content is tied to specific subjects: buildings and memorial sites appear in photographs, while the digital access provides additional texts or spoken contributions.

The stations thus combine two different forms of historical presentation: photographs make buildings or memorial sites the subject, while the QR access provides texts or audio recordings. In this way, the digital trail remains tied to specific stations and their respective subjects.

Jewish Cemetery

The Jewish cemetery of Vranov nad Topľou was established in the 18th century. The oldest sandstone gravestones date from the 1770s and 1780s; many other gravestones date from the 19th century. In 1963, the cemetery was included in the state register of cultural monuments. The chronology thus extends from its establishment in the 18th century, through the oldest gravestones mentioned, to the numerous stones from the 19th century.

Sacred Art and Water

Part of the interior of Bazilika Minor Vranov is decorated with frescoes by the prominent Czech Baroque painter J. L. Kracker. A guided tour of Bazilika Minor Vranov with explanations can be requested from the Sever Roman Catholic parish office.

Another highlight is Letné kúpalisko. The water in the pools at Letné kúpalisko is heated to between 26 and 29 °C. This temperature figure refers to the water in the pools and describes the stated heating range there.
