Kalinovo on the western shore of Lake Tavatuy
Accommodation in Kalinovo
Kalinovo lies on the western shore of Lake Tavatuy. Its location provides a clear geographical starting point when choosing where to stay: if the lake is to be the focus of your trip, you can think of Kalinovo as a village on the western shore. When looking for a holiday apartment, the first thing to consider is the location you want in relation to the lake. Two different road directions can help with getting there: one leads from Yekaterinburg towards Kalinovo, while the other leads to the village of Tavatuy and continues along the lakeshore. If you are planning together, be sure to distinguish between these two destinations and use the place name that matches your route.
At Lake Tavatuy: two road directions
For the drive from Yekaterinburg, one route follows the Moskovsky Trakt and continues via Pervouralsk, Bilimbay and Pochinok to Taraskovo. There, turn right towards the village of Kalinovo. Taraskovo is the turnoff towards the village. Check road conditions before setting out.
Another road direction leads from Yekaterinburg to Lake Tavatuy via the Yekaterinburg–Nizhny Tagil road; near kilometre 40, turn left towards the village of Tavatuy. An asphalt road about 5 km long leads to the village, after which a road runs along the lakeshore. While the route via Taraskovo leads towards Kalinovo, this direction points to the village of Tavatuy and a lakeside road. When planning, it is therefore important to know which of the two destinations you want to reach and which road route leads there.
