Alekseyevka can be explored through very different places: a cinema with a large screen, a landscaped square with play and skate areas, a birch grove and a family memorial. These stops bring different dimensions to the local itinerary—from film and activity to remembrance and history.

Squares, Activities and Memorial Sites in Alekseyevka

Petrishchev Square is in the centre of Alekseyevka, near the school and the settlement administration. It is dedicated to the poet and public figure Pyotr Vasilyevich Petrishchev, whose life was closely connected with the settlement. The square has a skate area, the “Krepost” play complex and a modern children’s playground. Illuminated paths run along Nevskaya Street between houses No. 10 and No. 8. Several types of public space come together here, and you can include the different facilities in your visit according to your interests.

There is also a birch grove on Nevskaya Street, near house No. 25. It offers a different landscape setting from Alekseyevka’s landscaped squares. The Volodichkin family memorial adds a historical dimension: it commemorates Praskovya Eremeevna Volodichkina and her nine sons, who lost their lives in the Great Patriotic War. Visitors exploring the area will find a place of remembrance alongside recreational facilities.

The “Druzhba” cinema has 129 seats and is equipped for screenings on a large screen, including in 3D. Its facilities include a multichannel audio system and a modern projector. Check current screenings when planning a movie night. The cinema adds a cultural activity to the local offering, distinct from spending time outdoors or visiting the memorial sites.

A Regional Perspective: Samara Oblast

Beyond the local itinerary, the wider destination of Samara Oblast offers a distinct perspective on nature and landscape. Samarskaya Luka is formed by a bend in the Volga and the Usinsky Bay of the Kuybyshev Reservoir. It includes Samarskaya Luka National Park, covering 127,000 hectares, and the Zhiguli Nature Reserve, covering 23,000 hectares. Molodetsky Kurgan lies in the northwest of Samarskaya Luka; a picturesque 75-kilometre-long ridge of the Zhiguli Mountains begins there.

From Molodetsky Kurgan, you can see the man-made Zhiguli Sea, the opposite bank of the Volga, the city of Tolyatti and the village of Zhiguli. The kurgan also has two nature trails, rest areas, a car park and a picnic meadow. More than 200 rare and endangered plant species grow there. This combination of views and plant life offers a different focus from Alekseyevka’s squares and cultural sites.

Regional routes also vary considerably in length and time required. The “Zhigulyovskiy labirint” is a seven-day horse route of about 140 kilometres through most of the national park; it can also be travelled on foot or by bicycle. The stated season is May to September. The “LukAmorye” nature trail is shorter, at less than one kilometre, and introduces visitors to the plants of Samarskaya Luka. The 1.3-kilometre “Vedmino ozero” trail starts at the entrance to Bakhilovo: along the way, visitors learn about the village’s origins, while the lake is associated with old Mordvin stories and legends. The 14-kilometre “Gora Strelnaya” driving and walking route passes through relict natural communities such as stony steppes and mountain pine forests; the walking section includes a guided tour covering the history of the nature reserve, its natural environment and the formation of the Zhiguli Mountains. Check the national park’s current guidance before planning, as visitor restrictions may apply; also check current operating information for the routes.

The “Domik Repina” museum complex in the village of Shiryaevo is part of the regional cultural offering. It presents the way of life of 19th-century peasants and merchants. Another natural and historical site is Stepan Razin Cave, one of the largest karst caves in Samarskaya Luka; its surroundings are considered a historical and natural-geological monument. These regional sites and routes form separate travel options and should be considered in light of their individual locations and visitor guidance.

Which travel priorities suit you?

If Alekseyevka is the focus of your stay, Petrishchev Square, the cinema, the birch grove and the family memorial offer different options for planning your day. If you would also like to include nature or cultural attractions in Samara Oblast, you can consider the varied route lengths and themes as a separate regional selection. Choose your holiday apartment search based on whether you mainly want to explore Alekseyevka or also plan to visit the wider region’s landscapes and routes; check current visitor and operating information for the latter separately.
