Kiselevo: Cultural Center and War History
Accommodation in Kiselevo
Kiselevo, in Krasnosulinskiy District of Rostov Oblast, has a cultural center, memorial sites, and a school museum connected with the village’s history. When looking for a holiday apartment in Kiselevo, you can check its exact location in relation to the places you want to visit. Those interested in music, theater, or regional history will find several local points of interest in the village.
Cultural Center and Groups
The rural cultural center is located at 2 Michurina Street in Kiselevo. Construction began in 1983, and the center opened its doors in 1986. Eight active clubs were reported for 2024. Examples include the singing groups “Kiselyanochka” and “Notka,” the theater club “Khudozhestvennoe slovo,” and the patriotic club “Yunyy patriot.” “Kiselyanochka” received the title of a folk collective in 2013. The number of groups reflects the situation in 2024; contact the cultural center to find out which activities are available during your stay.
The cultural center has ramps and other facilities for people with limited mobility. If you depend on specific access arrangements, confirm the current usability of the facilities before visiting. It is also a good idea to inquire in advance if you are planning a group visit, as the information about the groups is not a substitute for a current event calendar.
Monuments and Military History
In the 1970s, the remains of an unknown soldier were brought to a monument in Kiselevo. The monument is dedicated to soldiers who fell during the liberation of the village from the German fascist occupiers. In 2021, six concrete burial sites for soldiers who fell in the Great Patriotic War were described at the village’s Glory Monument. One of them is identified as the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.”
Another memorial site dates back to 1975, when the remains of aviation hero A. F. Solomatin and his comrades were reburied in Kiselevo after being moved from Pavlovka. During the war, an airfield of the 8th Air Army was located in Pavlovka. This reburial concerns Solomatin and the airmen; it is a separate historical event from the transfer of the unknown soldier.
School Museum and Earlier Records of the Village
Kiselevo’s school museum was founded in 1985. A local report from 1997 recounts that in 1993 a Polovtsian stone statue was brought from the village area to the school grounds. Its age was estimated only approximately, as dating from the 9th to 10th century. Early family photographs from Kiselevo and Pavlovka were also collected for the museum’s collection. A family tree documented the Losyev family, which the report describes as Kiselevo’s first settler family. Before planning a visit, ask whether the school museum is accessible today and under what conditions.
Staying in Kiselevo
The cultural center and memorial sites offer different points of interest during a stay. You can compare the cultural center’s address with the location of your holiday apartment and request up-to-date visitor information for the monuments or school museum. This makes it easier to choose accommodation based on the places you actually want to visit.
