Swimming season in Beketovka
For the 2026 swimming season, which began on 1 June, a beach at the “Braskiy prud” pond in Beketovka was listed as an official swimming spot. If you choose your holiday apartment based on the opportunity to swim, check that the season dates match your travel dates. This makes the swimming spot a concrete factor when choosing where to stay and planning your trip.
If you are making the swimming spot the reason for your trip, check in advance that the swimming season overlaps with your holiday. This helps you focus your apartment search on a seasonal highlight, rather than treating swimming as just an incidental option.
Cultural attractions in Penza Oblast
Literature, local history and distinctive exhibition concepts offer independent themes to explore within the broader destination of Penza Oblast. The examples vary considerably: some centre on a single art presentation, while others combine historic buildings with collections or landscape features.
In Penza, the Museum of One Painting, named after G. V. Myasnikov, presents a distinctive exhibition format. First, a 45-minute film is shown about the artist, the painting, its figures and the culture of its time. Then the curtain opens, and the painting is displayed with explanatory text and music. The hall has 37 seats. The film and the subsequent presentation of the painting make the connection between the work, the artist and the period part of the visitor experience.
The State Lermontov Museum-Reserve “Tarkhany” is in the village of Lermontovo in the Belinsky District of Penza Oblast. M. Yu. Lermontov spent half his life there. The first complex includes a protected park, three orchards, an oak grove and ponds. All-Russian Lermontov Festival Days have been held there since 1971; if you would like to plan your stay around them, check the specific dates. “Tarkhany” is also reviving local craft traditions such as weaving, willow-rod work, pottery and knitting.
The Belinsky family home also brings together architectural history and personal memories. The wooden house stands on a stone foundation, has a shingle roof and comprises seven rooms and a kitchen. V. G. Belinsky lived there continuously from 1816 to 1825. The exhibition “The Belinsky Family” features mementos, books from the critic’s private library, and furnishings and household items. This exhibition brings biographical memories together with objects from everyday life.
The “Legenda” Sculpture Park in Ramzay displays more than 300 works made from materials such as metal, granite, wood and bronze. The grounds also include a Japanese stone garden made of Karelian granite and Ural marble. The sculptures and landscaping with different types of stone offer a different focus from the historic houses and museum collections.
The “Miras” Museum of Tatar Life recreates the interior of a Tatar village house. On display are objects from daily life and work, kitchen utensils, elements of Tatar national dress and jewellery, as well as embroidered towels and tablecloths. A guided tour combines a workshop on preparing “Peremyachi”, a traditional Tatar baked good, with a tea tasting. The Kuvaka Spring Cultural and Historical Centre offers tours of its facility; visitors can also explore its four museum halls.
If you are interested in literary history, collections or a particular type of experience, focus your holiday apartment search on the cultural attraction you have chosen in Penza Oblast.
