The “Prikrasnoyarye «Kachinskiye stolby»” hiking route passes through Sukhaya; it is the village’s specific connection to hiking. This gives the choice of location a clear focus on nature, without requiring you to plan a major itinerary of excursions. It is advisable to check current trail conditions before setting out.

Hiking on two different scales

This circular hike is described in Emelyanovsky municipal district, which includes Sukhaya. The hike starts in the settlement of Pamyati 13 Bortsov, goes to the Kachinskiye Stolby, and returns from there. The recommended season is June to October. The 8-kilometre route is listed as taking 4 to 5 hours and is recommended for people aged 9 and over. Check local trail conditions before planning this hike.

The two route descriptions are useful for different considerations: the first locates a hiking route directly in the village, while the second describes a circular hike with a specified distance and duration. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Sukhaya, you can first consider which of these hikes suits your travel plans. For the circular hike, the season, duration, and age recommendation provide specific guidance; the route through the village, by contrast, is directly connected to the location. This keeps your choice of destination grounded in the routes actually mentioned.

Nature and culture in the wider destination of the Krasnoyarsk Region

The Krasnoyarsk Region also offers natural attractions in a markedly different landscape. The Ergaki Nature Park, of regional significance, lies in the south of the region. The Putoransky Nature Reserve includes the Putorana Plateau, with table mountains rising 1,000 to 1,500 metres above sea level, canyon-like basins with tectonic lakes, and numerous waterfalls. These landscapes give regional trip planning a different focus from the hiking routes described here: the emphasis is on uplands, lake basins, and waterfalls.

Another natural destination in the Krasnoyarsk Region is Krasnoyarskie Stolby National Park. Its eastern entrance is known for a picturesque stone amphitheatre formed by a granite quarry. It also offers a view of the Takmak rock massif, one of the largest in the national park. Rocks and formations accessible from the eastern entrance in almost any weather include Ermak, Kitayskaya stenka, Maly Berkut, Storozhevoy, and Vorobushki. The main routes are marked, and a route can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a full day. The “Krasnoyarskiy khayking” app makes it easier to find your way. The round trip from the eastern entrance to Takmak Rock is listed as about 4 kilometres and three hours. The trail to Takmak Rock is called “Tropa sportsmena”; it is marked in blue and runs through a deep hollow alongside the Mokhovoy stream. The eastern entrance also has the Kizyamy playground, with a fairytale wooden house, interactive abacuses, and winged swings.

Culture is also part of the region’s character. The Shushenskoye Historical and Ethnographic Museum-Reserve, in the settlement of the same name, recreates a Siberian village of the Russian Empire in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its wooden architectural monuments include peasant houses, a merchant’s shop, a smithy, and a prison-fort; the grounds contain a total of 194 monuments of rural architecture. In 2011, the Novaya derevnya architectural and ethnographic complex opened there, together with a natural landscape park. The museum programmes introduce visitors to traditions and customs of the past and explore peasant life: visitors can sample peasant dishes, gain a first introduction to traditional crafts, and learn about games, customs, and festivals.
