In Dzerzhinskiy District, waterside destinations meet art and local history. The shores of three lakes and the promenade along the Usolka give the area a distinctive recreational character, while routes and museums add cultural highlights. If you are looking for a vacation rental in the district, you can choose an area based on the mix of lakeside destinations, art, and history you want.

Lakeshores and the Usolka Promenade

The shores of Lakes «Ulyukol», «Malseyevo», and «Taray» are among the favorite recreational spots for residents of Dzerzhinskiy District. The Usolka Promenade in the center of Dzerzhinskoye is also a popular local recreational spot. The district therefore features several lakes as well as a riverside area in the town center as distinctive waterside destinations.

Art and Local History

In Usolka is the Usolka Art Gallery, the exhibition hall of the Dzerzhinskiy District Local History Museum. The collection includes 98 paintings by contemporary artists, two sculptures, and five ceramic works; these collection figures may have changed. The local history museum is named after A. S. Chuprov and is located at 146 Kirova Street in Dzerzhinskoye. The gallery and museum offer two specific points of interest for art and local history.

There are ten historic memorial sites in Denisovo, resembling an open-air museum. These sites add a historical focus to the district’s cultural character. The cultural route also lists a museum in the village of Petrovka and the Oryol Ethnographic Museum as places to visit.

Two Routes, Two Timeframes

The historical and cultural weekend route «Kulturnye traditsii Dzerzhinskogo rayona» passes through Dzerzhinskoye, Usolka, Plitnoye, Kurai, and Orlovka. It is listed as 80 kilometers long and two days in duration. Places to visit along the route include the Dzerzhinskiy District Local History Museum, the Usolka Art Gallery, the museum in Petrovka, and the Oryol Ethnographic Museum.

The ecological weekend route «Ozera Dzerzhinskogo rayona» visits the three lakes «Ulyukol», «Malseyevo», and «Taray». It is listed as 31 kilometers long and three days in duration. It is therefore shorter than the cultural route, but its stated duration is one day longer. Both routes list the same period: from June 1 to September 20. Before planning, check whether the route is operating on your visit dates. The stated distances and durations can help you compare the time needed for the two themed itineraries.

Activities and the Wider Region

For the warm season, a roller-ski track at 40 Chekhova Street in the village of Dzerzhinskoye is listed for roller skating and roller skiing. Before visiting, check whether the track is currently accessible.

The wider destination of Krasnoyarsk Krai offers other distinct cultural and landscape attractions. The Shushenskoye Historical and Ethnographic Museum-Reserve, in the settlement of the same name, recreates a Siberian village from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The grounds contain 194 monuments of rural architecture, including peasant houses, a merchant’s shop, a forge, and a prison-fort. In 2011, the architectural and ethnographic complex «Novaya derevnya» opened there, featuring a natural and landscape park.

A very different landscape in Krasnoyarsk Krai can be found in the Putoransky Nature Reserve: its landscapes include the Putorana Plateau, with table mountains 1,000 to 1,500 meters above sea level, canyon-like basins containing tectonic lakes, and numerous waterfalls. These regional examples belong to a broader context; the recreational spots and routes described in Dzerzhinskiy District remain distinct from them.
