Terziyan: Monument and Former Youth Activities

Monument and Hike

A monument in Terziyan commemorates the defenders of Tuapse who fell in the Great Patriotic War. It is a specific memorial, giving the place a historical connection.

On a hike, 15 students and their supervisors set off from the hamlet of Terziyan. Their route led through the Psisch River valley to the summit of Semiglavaya, the highest point on the route at 1,435 metres. The account connects a starting point in the settlement with a river valley and a clearly named summit destination. It refers to this group hike.

Former Youth Holiday Camps

A three-day youth tent camp called «V dikikh usloviyakh» was held at the «Zastava» camp in Terziyan. There, 30 young people from various settlements in Tuapsinsky District practised survival skills in challenging conditions in the wilderness. They learned about useful and poisonous plants and how to behave when encountering animals. Volunteers from the «Liza Alert» search and rescue group in the Krasnodar region also taught them the basics of unmanned aviation, radio communications, topography and compass use. The programme included a simulated search for people missing in the forest and first-aid training.

In June 2025, the multi-day summer camp session «100 druzey» of the S. V. Dudko Centre for Children’s and Youth Tourism was held at the «Zastava» tourist base. It was a holiday camp focused on tourism and local history. Together with the three-day tent camp, this event illustrates a different format of organised youth activity: a multi-day summer session rather than a programme explicitly focused on survival skills and orienteering. The «Anapskaya peresyp» nature park offers yet another landscape perspective in the Krasnodar region: visitors can walk along the coast on wide, golden beaches; farther from the sea, the sand forms high dunes. The region thus brings together different themes, including coastal walks, birdlife and natural history, as well as the history of winemaking and interactive exhibitions.
