Discover Shepsi: Beach, Music and History
Accommodation in Shepsi
Shepsi brings together the coast and cultural history in a distinctive way: the beach has both pebble and sandy sections, while the C-Sharp Minor Museum and Nikolai Petrov’s dacha add their own cultural touches. The seabed also shapes the beach: it slopes gently and has no large boulders or stones. The dacha on the grounds of the “Shepsi” boarding house was built in 1899. When choosing a holiday apartment in Shepsi, you can therefore consider whether you would like to focus your stay more on the beach, water activities, or music and architecture.
Beach and Shoreline
Shepsi’s beach includes both pebble and sandy sections. Underwater, the seabed slopes gently; large boulders or stones are not among its described features. Both the shore’s surface and the transition into the sea are therefore part of the beach’s profile. Which of these features matters most for your days at the beach depends on your own preferences.
The seafront promenade is also part of the shoreline. It was renovated in 2013 after winter damage, ahead of a holiday season; the beach is described as a municipal beach. If the promenade is important to your plans, check its current condition before your visit.
Music and Nikolai Petrov’s Dacha
The collection at the C-Sharp Minor Museum in Shepsi includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and other figures from the world of music. This adds a specific musical focus alongside the coastal theme. The collection brings together several well-known names, without limiting the cultural experience to a single era or composer.
Nikolai Petrov’s dacha, which belonged to the engineer, is located on the grounds of the “Shepsi” boarding house. It was built in 1899 and was listed as a cultural heritage site of regional significance in March 2026. Features that remain include an observation tower, stair balustrades, stucco fragments, and a carved oak terrace. The details range from distinctive structural features to decorative elements, bringing the house’s architecture to life.
The history of the building’s use also spans several periods: in the 1930s, it housed a sanatorium for oil workers from Maykop. During the Second World War, it served as a rest home for submariners of the Black Sea Fleet; after the war, the “Krasnodarneft” and “Shepsi” rest homes followed. The building can therefore be understood not only through its year of construction and design, but also through its changing functions. Group tours were held on the grounds; check in advance whether a tour is currently available.
Boat Station and Water Attractions on the Shepsi Shore
Shepsi’s shoreline features a boat station and various water attractions. If you would like to include these in your plans, check in advance what will actually be available during your stay. This lets you consider beach days and possible water activities separately, rather than assuming there is a fixed daily programme.

These landscape and nature themes offer a regional perspective on Krasnodar Krai.
The “Vinnye dorogi Krasnodarskogo kraya” route is another distinct highlight in Krasnodar Krai. It presents more than 2,500 years of winemaking and wine production in the region, from antiquity to the present day, using interactive exhibits and installations.
