In Korenovsky District, recreational activities in Korenovsk City Park meet local history, art and memorial sites in several stanitsas. This offers a variety of ways to spend your stay: enjoy the outdoors, visit exhibitions or explore the history of the Kuban Cossacks. When choosing a vacation rental, you can take into account which of these places interest you most.

City park, waterfront promenade and public square

The city park in Korenovsk offers 13 rides for children and adults: ten mechanical and three non-mechanical. The availability of individual rides may vary. The park also has a 365-meter-long waterfront promenade paved with paving stones. Railings and rotundas, which serve as places to rest, define this stretch along the water.

The city park also hosts larger events, including city and district celebrations, themed exhibitions, discos, festivals, Maslenitsa festivities and graduation celebrations. If a particular event is important to your stay, check the date in advance. A different, smaller open-air venue is the square in Platnirovskaya: it has shaded paths, a playground and a sculpture of the character Kot Leopold. The recreational spots described here range from rides and longer walks to a brief stop in a square.

Museum, art and culture in Platnirovskaya

The local history museum at the Platnirovskaya Cultural and Leisure Center is dedicated to the history of the stanitsa. The center’s institutional description lists the first residents and the revival of Cossack traditions as topics, and photographic documents and household items as exhibits. Check the visiting arrangements locally. The center’s institutional description also mentions an art gallery featuring works by artist G. N. Garkusha. The facilities described at the Cultural and Leisure Center include a 600-seat auditorium, exhibition spaces and the Kroha children’s play area, as well as a foyer, a flower gallery, rehearsal rooms, and a sports and fitness room.

The cultural program includes festivals, theater performances, choreographic performances and concert programs. Together with the museum and gallery, the center is a distinct hub for performing arts and exhibitions. Check specific event dates before making plans. The stanitsa of Djadkovskaya is also home to a house museum dedicated to composer Viktor Gavrilovich Zakharchenko, who was born there. The museum is open to visitors; check the visiting arrangements locally in advance.

The collections include ethnographic objects, numismatics, documents, photographs, applied arts and technical objects. The exhibition description for the Hall of Kuban Everyday Life mentions a diorama about the settlement of the Korenovsky kuren, Cossack household items and a reconstructed Cossack house. Other sites offer different points of interest: the Alley of Glory in Korenovsk opened in May 1995. It honors city residents who were Heroes of the Soviet Union or full holders of the Order of Glory. The Church of Saint Vladimir, Equal to the Apostles, was consecrated on July 28, 2005. The Church of Saint Sabbas the Sanctified is considered to have been founded in 1833, when a wooden church was built. In Platnirovskaya, a war memorial with an Eternal Flame and a Mother sculpture commemorates residents of Platnirovskaya and the hamlets of Kazachiy and Levchenko who were killed or went missing during the Second World War. The Holy and Life-Giving Trinity Church in Platnirovskaya has been recognized as a historical and cultural monument of Krasnodar Krai since 2001.

Since the places described are spread across Korenovsk, Platnirovskaya and Djadkovskaya, it is best to first decide which sites you want to focus on during your stay. You can use this to guide your choice of accommodation without assuming a particular route.
