Rock Formation and Views near Kamenushka
The “Kamennye vorota” (Stone Gate) relic rock formation is located near Kamenushka, close to Sosnovka. A large stone slab resting on the rock pillars once made the structure look like the letter P. This shape gave it the name “vorota,” meaning “gate.”
From the top of the rocks, you can see the Salair Ridge, as well as the town of Salair and the settlement of Sosnovka. The view thus takes in both the ridge and inhabited places. The rock formation also combines a natural feature with a local story: according to legend, walking around the rocks a hundred times in a row will rid you of all illnesses. Told as a legend, this tale is part of the local image of the Stone Gate.
Many artists often paint outdoors among the rocks. The formation is known not only for its shape and views, but also as a place where artists gather to paint.
Waterfall and Pond
Near Kamenushka, an abandoned village, a stream flowing out of a pond forms a small waterfall. It has two tiers and is about three to four metres deep. On the edge of the now-abandoned village there is also a fairly large pond, known as a place for fishing and relaxation. The stream and pond offer different landscape attractions from the rocks and the view from the summit.
