Selenopolye appeals to travelers who want to combine active pursuits with cultural and historical discoveries. At the Zelenopolye Country Club, quad and enduro rides, a ropes course, a zoo and fishing on the lake offer a range of leisure options. The protected church and a surviving smalt mosaic offer another perspective on the area. This lets you plan around outdoor activities, something for the children, fishing and history without having to settle on just one kind of holiday.

Activities at the Zelenopolye Country Club

The country club’s off-road park offers rides on quad bikes and enduro motorcycles. Full-day tours are available for adventure seekers, while more leisurely rides are planned for beginners. Experienced instructors teach you how to handle the vehicles. These options give you a concrete starting point for planning your day: you can weigh up a full-day tour against a more leisurely ride described as suitable for beginners.

Children can visit the ropes course at the country club. The club’s zoo is home to goats, sheep, turkeys and chickens. So, alongside motorized rides, the program also includes activities without vehicles. If you’d prefer a different focus by the lake, you can fish from the shore and take your catch with you. Check with the operator whether fishing is currently available before making plans.

The Zelenopolye Café also adds a seasonal offering to your visit: vegetables, berries and fruit from the club’s agricultural complex can be bought there. This offering is explicitly seasonal, so check whether it is available during the relevant period.

Church and smalt mosaic

Built in 1735, the church in Selenopolye is protected as a cultural heritage site of regional significance. Another historical feature is a smalt mosaic that has survived on the eastern wall of the ruins of an 18th-century church. It depicts an evangelical sower. This specific subject gives your visit a distinctive cultural and historical focus. If you would like to see the mosaic in person, check before your trip whether visits are offered.

The wider destination: Kaliningrad Oblast

At the level of the wider destination of Kaliningrad Oblast, the Curonian Spit is a distinct natural area. The sandy peninsula is 98 kilometers long and between 350 meters and 3.8 kilometers wide. It forms a natural barrier between the salty Baltic Sea and the freshwater Curonian Lagoon. The cross-border Russian-Lithuanian World Heritage site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000 in the “Cultural Landscape” category.

The national park on the Russian part of the Curonian Spit has seven ecological trails and three tourist excursion routes. Six named trails are accessible around the clock, year-round: “Korolevskiy bor” at kilometer 6, “Vysota Myullera” at kilometer 32, “Rossittenskiy les” at kilometer 33, “Tantsuyushchiy les” at kilometer 37, “Vysota Efa” at kilometer 42 and “Ozero Lebed'” at kilometer 45. They may be temporarily closed due to weather or necessary restoration work; check the latest notices before visiting.

The “Fringilla” eco-trail has its own access requirements: from April to October, visits are only possible as part of a guided tour with at least ten people. The region’s nature offerings therefore differ not only in their landscapes but also in the conditions for visiting. When looking for a holiday apartment, it helps to first decide on the focus of your stay: the activities and traces of history in Selenopolye, or the broader natural attractions of Kaliningrad Oblast.
