The Krasnoarmeyskiy District combines lake landscapes with village offerings related to crafts, food traditions, and history. Sugoyak and Kulat each give the landscape their own points of reference; in Brodokalmak and Miasskoye, workshops, hands-on activities, and historical sites take center stage. So when looking for a holiday rental, it helps to start with one question: should your stay focus mainly on the lakes or more on the village offerings?

Lakes and lakeside towns

The bowl-shaped Sugoyak Lake stretches 4 km from north to south. The settlement of Lazurny lies on its shore. Its shape, size, and lakeside settlement give the lake a distinct spatial outline. If Sugoyak is one of your planned priorities, Lazurny can serve as a reference point when looking for a holiday rental. Compare the actual location of an accommodation with the places you would like to visit during your trip.

Kulat Lake covers 61 hectares, and the village of the same name lies on its shore. Kulat is also one of the saltiest lakes in Chelyabinsk Oblast. The two lakes therefore differ in their features: Sugoyak is notable for its bowl shape and north–south extent, while Kulat stands out for its area, salinity, and the village on its shore. This comparison offers more specific guidance than a general description of lakes and helps you see the two places as distinct landscape destinations.

Natural features in the district

The Krasnoarmeyskiy District is home to several specially protected natural landmarks. The Miass pine forest area is on the right bank of the Miass River, 3 km downstream from the village of Miasskoye. The riverbank, direction of flow, and connection to the village locate this area differently from the two lakes. Those interested in the district’s natural environment can therefore consider the river setting of the Miass pine forest area alongside the lakeside landscapes.

Villages, crafts, and history

In Brodokalmak and Miasskoye, visitors can watch Russian felt boots being made in a felt-making workshop. In the same villages, they can also take part in workshops on preserving food and visit historical sites. These offer different kinds of experiences: at the workshop, the focus is on watching the boots being made; in the food-preservation workshop, it is on taking part; and at historical sites, it is on sightseeing.

This distinction can help with planning your trip: would you like to watch a craft being made, learn about food preservation, or visit historical sites? The activities mentioned cover different subjects and offer various ways to get to know the villages. You can take these interests into account when choosing a holiday rental without combining every activity into a single itinerary item.

Routes rooted in tradition

A 2025 municipal passport lists the commercial route “Ot pima do kochana.” It offers insights into crafts and rural life. Check its current availability before planning. The tourist route “Vkus traditsiy” is also being implemented in the Krasnoarmeyskiy District in 2026. Its subtitle is “po sledam starinnykh traditsiy”—in the footsteps of old traditions. The routes have different emphases: one focuses on crafts and rural life, while the subtitle of the other highlights old traditions.
