Czaplinek: Lakeside, Church and Cycling Routes
Accommodation in Czaplinek
Czaplinek can be explored from three different perspectives: by Lake Czaplino, along its designated cycling routes and in the Church of the Holy Trinity. For your holiday plans, this means choosing between lakeside scenery, cycling routes and culture. Families with different interests can compare these as possible highlights rather than planning their stay around just one type of outing. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Czaplinek, it helps to first consider which aspects of the town you would like to experience. Then you can see which location suits your own plans for the day.
Lakeside and bathing beach
Czaplinek stretches along Lake Czaplino. Its steep, almost entirely cliff-like shores are mostly covered with deciduous trees and shape the character of the lakeside landscape. A supervised municipal bathing beach lies on a prominent peninsula in the southwest of the lake. If you would like to include time by the water in your holiday plans, it is a specific point of reference for this kind of visit. Opening times and conditions may change; check them before your visit.
Church history and guided tour
The Church of the Holy Trinity is the oldest masonry building in Czaplinek. It was probably built in the late 14th or early 15th century. Inside are a Baroque wooden baldachin altar and a Neoclassical pulpit from the first half of the 19th century. The altar and pulpit represent different design traditions in the church, and their history spans several centuries. This gives a visit a distinct cultural focus, different from spending time by the lake or cycling.
From 1 July to 30 August, a professional tour guide talks about the beginnings of the town and the Commandery of Tempelburg during guided tours of the church, Monday to Friday at 11 a.m. and noon. The tour is therefore about not only the church building but also the early history of the town. Confirm the seasonal schedule with the municipal tourism office before your visit.
Cycling routes and orientation
Eleven cycling routes with a total length of 600.3 kilometres have been designated in Czaplinek. They all start and end at the cycling-route junction by the fountain in the Old Town Market Square. This shared junction is a specific point of reference for planning a route; however, the total number and length describe the designated network, not the duration or length of any individual ride. Decide which route suits your day using the latest route information. Check trail conditions before setting out.
There are two tourist information offices at ul. Rynek 1. Check current opening hours and procedures before visiting.
