Aleja Gwiazd Kolarstwa Polskiego adds a different dimension. It was unveiled in 2002; the stylised wall displays handprints of well-known Polish cyclists. Together, these places tell different stories: the remains of the city walls point to the historic centre, while the wall commemorates Polish cyclists.
A park dating from the 1840s
Moniuszki Park is also in the centre. It covers slightly more than two hectares and was laid out in the 1840s as an urban landscape park. Its origins and original purpose distinguish it from the lakeside promenade and the remains of the fortifications. If, during your stay, you are interested not only in the water but also in the historical development of the urban landscape, the park adds another point of reference in terms of both period and design.
Routes for different kinds of day out
The promenade runs around Lake Klukom, while the Green Route has named endpoints: it is 16.7 kilometres long and runs from Choszczno to Recz. This distinction is useful when planning. The promenade offers a longer circuit around the lake, while the Green Route is described as a trail with Recz as its destination. Before setting out, check the current signage and local conditions.
