Zabrodzie between lake trails and church history

Zabrodzie combines hiking experiences around Lake Myczkowieckie with a distinctive church history. Two trails differ in duration and character: the blue-marked “Niebieska Łezka” is classified as moderate and takes about six hours. “Zielone Wzgórza nad Soliną” is described as shorter, at about five hours, but is considered long. The trails also offer views of the lake and mountain ranges, as well as historical landmarks in the village.

Hiking trails with different highlights

A section of “Zielone Wzgórza nad Soliną” near Zabrodzie opens up views of Lake Myczkowieckie, Bóbrka, the Kozińca Massif with its disused quarry, and, in the distance, the Żukowa Ridge. This trail brings together different kinds of scenery: the lake, a village, a massif and a ridge on the horizon. The red-marked “Zielone Wzgórza nad Soliną” hiking trail descends to former Zabrodzie, now the main part of the village of Solina. Along the way, the trail climbs beside Potok Wola, crossing the stream several times. A single section of this approximately five-hour route, described as long but not particularly difficult, can be walked in either direction. You can then return by PKS bus. Another option is the blue-marked “Niebieska Łezka” around Lake Myczkowieckie. One section passes through Zabrodzie. After this section, the route continues past Potok Wola along gravel roads and then unpaved paths. Its moderate difficulty rating and approximate duration of six hours provide a different guide from the information given for “Zielone Wzgórza nad Soliną”. Church history and places of remembrance

Zabrodzie’s cultural history is also closely connected with the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. The brick church was built in 1922–1923. During the interwar period, worshippers of the Latin and Uniate rites shared the church. This shared use is one of the village’s distinctive historical features.

The church houses an image of Our Lady of Sorrows dating from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. It came from the church in Myczków and was brought to Zabrodzie. Also housed there is a copy of the icon of Our Lady of Łopieńska, which retains its original silver coverings. The two images offer a tangible connection to religious tradition: one is linked to its origins in Myczków, while the other is connected to the history of the icon through its original coverings.

The historic cemetery of former Zabrodzie dates from the early 20th century and is now a municipal cemetery.
