Culture and History
Jasień was formerly a village and is now part of the town of Ustrzyki Dolne in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship and Bieszczady County.
The documented religious history of Jasień includes an Orthodox church that was later converted into a Uniate church. In addition, a brick Roman Catholic church was built after 1740 and consecrated in 1743.
The history of Jasień includes its re-establishment under Wallachian law in 1559 as well as settlement by Wallachian people.
Its more recent history includes periods under Soviet and German administration during and after the Second World War, before Jasień became part of Poland again after 15 February 1951.
