Discover Milowka: the Soła, cycling routes and regional storytelling
Accommodation in Milowka
Milowka combines experiences on the Soła with regional culture and a distinctive history of church architecture. If you want to combine activity with discovery, there are several reasons to plan a trip: a cycling route, a park with a range of activities and a three-day event in November. When choosing a holiday apartment, consider which of these interests you would like to shape your stay and when you would like to travel.
Church architecture, storytelling and a closed museum
The brick Church of the Assumption of Mary was completed in 1839 and is classified as an example of the so-called Vistula style. Construction began in 1834; until the first half of the 19th century, a wooden church had served the community. The history of church architecture in Milowka can thus be traced through two successive buildings. The “Stara Chałupa” Museum has been closed since March 2026 for renovation work, until further notice.
The Posiady Gawędziarskie is a cultural event in its own right: this three-day event takes place every year in November. Stories are told in the regional dialect, and the programme also includes a competition in performing on unique folk instruments. If you are planning your trip around this programme, November is the key time to visit. The event offers a different focus from a stay centred on cycling or time in the park.
Cycling and time by the river
An approximately 5 km cycling route runs through Milowka along the Soła. It has an elevation difference of 25 metres. The route length and elevation difference give you concrete figures for planning your own ride, without specifying a particular journey time. If you are travelling with a variety of interests, you can plan this route as one possible active focus alongside cultural activities and park visits.
There is also a pump track by the Soła, connected to an existing cycle path. It is used by cyclists to train for riding in hilly terrain and can also be used by inline skaters, skateboarders and scooter riders. This offers a different kind of activity from a longer ride along the river.
Gminny Park: green space and active pursuits
Gminny Park is located on the banks of the Soła and covers about three hectares. Its facilities include a health trail with exercise equipment and a ropes course. The ropes course has 27 obstacles across two routes of different difficulty levels. The routes are intended for people over 160 cm tall. This height requirement is particularly important when planning a trip with children: it can help you decide whether the ropes course is suitable for the people travelling with you, without assuming that both routes are suitable for every age or height group.
The park therefore brings together several clearly distinct options: exercise on the training equipment, the ropes course with its two difficulty levels, and time by the river. When choosing a holiday apartment, you can consider this active focus alongside the history of church architecture or the November programme. Milowka is therefore suited to planning a trip where you can balance culture, cycling activities and time outdoors according to your own interests.
