The former wooden Church of the Holy Archangel Michael in Łękawica burned down on 26 October 1992. A replacement church was built near the former site; it was consecrated in 1997 and retains the patronage of the Holy Archangel Michael as well as Saints Peter and Paul.
The former wooden church had been built in 1547 in the Silesian-Lesser Poland style. It was destroyed together with its polychrome decoration in the 1992 fire.
A grotto with a statue of Our Lady of the Rosary remains as a preserved remnant of the former church site.
