History
Piaseczno was formerly known by the name Dupice. Official local history dates the historical existence of the settlement back to at least 1421; its founding in 1366 is sometimes assumed. The name Piaseczno has been used since 1928.
Archaeological traces of Neanderthal presence, including flint and bone artefacts, were found in the Okiennik Cave in Piaseczno and in the Dziadowa Skała Cave. The presence of modern humans is attributed to the Upper and Late Palaeolithic.
