Traces of the former manor estate
The history of the estate can be traced through several different remains and buildings. Edward Reszke bought the Garnek estate in 1895 and built a manor house there. Only the cellars remain of the Moraczewski family manor house. The former estate gatehouse dates from 1898; the estate also includes a brick granary from the early 20th century.
The park was also part of the Garnek estate. It included rare tree species and landscaped avenues. Remains of the estate park from the turn of the 20th century have been preserved in Garnek. The area's history is therefore not centred solely on individual buildings: the park and the various surviving traces are also part of the picture of the former estate. Church history and parish cemetery
The history of the parish also includes a clear transition over time. The former church dated from 1750 and was burned down on 13 May 1944. Construction of the replacement church began on 7 October 1947; the new church was consecrated on 2 September 1951. These dates describe different stages in the area's history and should not be confused: they refer to the former church, the start of construction, and the consecration of the new church.
The Garnek parish cemetery dates from 1902 and is listed as a monument in the plan. Together with the estate's historic features, it broadens the historical perspective beyond the story of the Reszke family.
