Local History and Special Discoveries

The Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a reconstruction of a chapel destroyed by the Germans in 1943. It was built based on its pre-war predecessor and a surviving photograph. On 3 May 2004, it was consecrated by Father Alfons Fonfara, parish priest of Matki Bożej Królowej in Ocypel. Its history connects the memory of the destroyed original building with its reconstruction based on a photographic reference.

Another trace of history can be found at the railway station: in a shady corner of a siding stands a forgotten pre-war German Pullman-type railway carriage. The wooden buildings in the village of Ocypel are also counted among the sights around Lubichowo. These varied discoveries range from a reconstructed chapel and an old railway carriage to village architecture.
