Lake Wdzydze and Waterways
At 16 km², Lake Wdzydze is the largest lake in Wdzydzki Landscape Park. It is more than 70 m deep and is known by locals as the “Kashubian Sea.” Its size and traditional nickname shape its image as a distinctive body of water in the area. In Borsk, a landing stage on Lake Wdzydze offers water-sports and leisure equipment for hire, making it possible to combine your stay with activities on the water.
For a canoe trip, the signposted Borsk–Żebrowo–Bąk–Miedzno section offers a specific point of reference: it is over 15 km long and runs along the Wda River and the Wda Canal. The places named and the stated length help you consider this section as an option in its own right, rather than confusing it with a much longer kayaking route.
The 210 km kayaking route runs through Wdzydzki Landscape Park from Lipusz, via Lakes Schodno, Słupinko, Radolne and Wdzydze, to Borsk. According to the international classification, it is considered easy and is accessible to beginners. If you are considering a longer trip, this route offers both a course passing through several lakes and a clear difficulty rating. The route ends in Borsk; by contrast, the canoe route is described as a section with stops at Borsk, Żebrowo, Bąk and Miedzno.
Walking Through Borsk
The Wdzydzki Hiking Trail also passes through Borsk. At kilometre 12, it crosses the Wda River via a footbridge. This crossing is a notable point along the trail and gives you a specific reference for planning your hike. The kilometre marker indicates the bridge’s location on the trail; it does not state the total length of the route. If you prefer travelling on foot to being on the water, you can make the hiking trail a focus of your trip.
Training at Borsk Airfield
Borsk Airfield offers training for qualifications as a paraglider pilot for all PGP types, as well as as a pilot of an UAG(L) ultralight autogyro. This makes the airfield a special destination for travellers interested in these forms of flying. The training covers different qualifications; it should not be confused with scenic flight offerings.
Paragliders are mainly towed by vehicle to an altitude of 500–700 m. A stationary double-drum winch with 1,600 m-long cables is also used. It is used primarily for training and supports towing when needed.
