Mezowo lies by Lake Jezioro Mezowskie, and the Way of St. James passes through the village. There is also an equestrian route through the Kashubian Landscape Park and events that bring people together around food, music and culture. This gives you different ways to shape your trip around nature, outdoor activities and local events.

Lake Jezioro Mezowskie and Ostrów Island

Lake Jezioro Mezowskie is a defining feature of Mezowo. The lake contains an island that was formerly called Ostrów. The island is also associated with a story passed down with some reservation: an ancient hillfort is said to have once stood there.

Dzień Mezowa also begins by the lake: the celebrations open with a mass at a chapel on the shore of Lake Jezioro Mezowskie. The lake is therefore not only a landscape feature, but also part of local festivities. If you want to plan your trip around nature and local life, these offer two different ways to experience Mezowo.

The Way of St. James and the Modrzewiowa equestrian route

The Way of St. James passes through Mezowo; the section here is part of the Pomeranian Way of St. James. If you are interested in the Way of St. James, Mezowo can also be considered in the context of this pilgrimage route, which is known beyond the region.

The Modrzewiowa equestrian route offers a different kind of activity. It is 7.4 kilometres long, starts at Estancja Mezowo and runs through the Kashubian Landscape Park. Its name, length and route give you specific details to consider if you would like to include horse riding in your trip. The Way of St. James and the equestrian route are different considerations for planning: one passes through Mezowo, while the other is described as a riding route with a set starting point and length.

Community and events in Mezowo

Dzień Mezowa takes place in May or June. After the mass at the chapel by the lake, the celebration continues at Baśniowy Zakątek kindergarten in Mezowo. The programme includes a shared feast, music, dancing and competitions. Residents and the local women’s association prepare food for everyone to share. The celebration thus combines a religious opening and time spent together with a varied programme.

Blues Nad Stawem is also part of the local events calendar. The concert is held annually in Mezowo on Kasztanowa Street. Culture enthusiasts can also attend the lecture series with Professor Maciej Pawlikowski: in July 2026, it reached its eighth edition. The events are open to the public and free of charge.

Another event with a clearly specified date was the second Bieg Wikinga, held in Mezowo on 7 June 2026. When planning your trip, it is worth distinguishing between events with a specific date and named local offerings: Bieg Wikinga is associated here with its 2026 date, while Blues Nad Stawem is described as an annual concert.
