School History and Local Memorial Sites
Egiertowo was established around 1600 on the site of former glassworks. There was no school in the town until 1879; children went to school in Kamela. The brick building of the former school, dating from 1880, stands in the town centre. The dates mark different milestones: around 1600 relates to the town’s origins, up to 1879 to children attending school outside Egiertowo, and 1880 to a later school building in the town. Stefan Socha founded the memorial site in Egiertowo. The Protestant cemetery is on the road towards Nowa Karczma. The historical themes thus range from the town’s early history and education to cemetery culture shaped by religion.
Oak Tree and Converted School Building
A school building that has been partly converted into a Karczma stands beside a magnificent oak tree that is around 250 years old. Here, a notable tree and the structural alteration of a building are two aspects of the townscape. The oak’s approximate age and the partial conversion of the school building each give this spot its own character.

In Egiertowo, National Road 20 (Stargard Szczeciński–Szczecinek–Gdynia) and Voivodeship Road 224 (Wejherowo–Tczew) intersect. A one-off cycling event passed through Egiertowo on 2 October 2021: the 27-kilometre tour, part of the “Zwiedzanie zgodnie z naturą” project, ran from Somonino through the town and along the Szlak Hutniczy to Borcz and Trątkownica. Both the start and finish were in Somonino.
