Cycling routes of different lengths
The green-marked cycling route No. 19 is 24.2 km long. It runs from Kielcza via Żędowice, Zawadzkie-Świerkle, Pietraszów, Stawy Pluderskie, Regolowiec and Brzyniczka to Kolonowskie. Part of the route runs outside the county. The black-marked cycling route No. 166 is shorter, at 11.4 km, and runs from Zawadzkie-Świerkle via Zawadzkie station and the forest district office to Kąty.
At 43.3 km, the blue-marked cycling route No. 163 is the longest of these numbered routes. It runs from the edge of Zawadzkie via Stawy Pluderskie, Regolowiec, Kolonowskie, Fosowskie, Staniszcze Małe, Krasiejów, Spórok, Staniszcze Wielkie and Kąty. The red-marked cycling route No. 18 is 22.6 km long and runs from Staniszcze Małe via Staniszcze Wielkie, Łaziska and Jemielnica to Centawa. The two intermediate routes are similar in length but connect different places. Check the markings and trail conditions before setting off, as they can change.
On foot around Góra św. Anny
The green-marked, 15 km Flora and Fauna Trail begins and ends in Góra św. Anny. Along the way, it passes through Wysoka, the “Ligota Dolna” reserve, Oleszka and Żyrowa. The strict nature reserve covers 4.90 ha and is notable for its distinctive plant life, including dry grasslands and other vascular plants, mosses and lichens.
The shorter option is the 3.7 km yellow-marked walking trail “im. Xawerego Dunikowskiego”. It loops around Góra św. Anny, passing the market square, a ravine, the amphitheatre, a lime kiln, the Czynu Powstańczego monument, an old inn, Dom Pielgrzyma and the Basilica of św. Anny before returning to the market square. The rock amphitheatre on Góra św. Anny can accommodate around 30,000 people. The red-marked Third Silesian Uprising Trail follows a different route, passing through Klucz, Czarnocin and Poręba before reaching Góra św. Anny. You can choose between a 3.7 km loop, a 15 km trail and a route with additional places along the way.
Beech stands in the Klucz Forest District
The Boże Oko and Grafik partial reserves also have different focuses. Boże Oko covers 57.31 ha and protects a beech stand with 160-year-old trees in the Klucz Forest District. The 27.66 ha Grafik partial reserve in the same forest district is covered by a naturally shaped, 130-year-old beech stand. The descriptions therefore focus respectively on preserving old beeches and on the stand’s natural character.
Choose your base according to the trails
If you are mainly interested in the walking and hiking trails around Góra św. Anny, this place may be a natural point of reference when searching for a holiday apartment. For planning a cycling tour, the named starting points and places along the way offer a different guide: Cycling route No. 166, for example, starts in Zawadzkie-Świerkle, where there is a rest area and a bivouac site. Check whether these facilities are currently available before using them. Choose your base according to the trails and places on your itinerary; the route lengths indicate different geographical scales and planning requirements.
