Since 15 September 2021, the Nasielski Dom Edukacji i Historii has been a museum institution run by the Miejsko-Gminna Biblioteka Publiczna w Nasielsku; the library reported this status on 9 January 2026. Button manufacturing and traces of technology
Button manufacturing is a notable chapter in local economic history. In 1897, Eliezer Charka, also known as Czarka, founded one of Poland’s earliest button factories on Nasielsk’s main street. Its status as one of the country’s earliest factories places its founding in a broader Polish context, beyond the town’s own history. A mural created in autumn 2021 on the wall of a historic building in Nasielsk depicts a woman who worked at the former Nasielska Fabryka Guzików. Two different aspects of Nasielsk’s history come together here: the founding of an early factory and the story of a former employee.
The Nasielsk “Baszta” also points to a chapter in technological history: it was built around 1920 and served as a transformer station. Together with button manufacturing, it offers a glimpse into two different sides of the town’s history: production and technical infrastructure.
