Culture and History

The oldest surviving monument in Parczew is a wooden bell tower dating from 1675. It has a post-and-beam construction and a shingle roof.

Historically, Parczew belongs to the region of Lesser Poland, called Małopolska in Polish. In 1401, under King Władysław II Jagiełło, the town was granted Magdeburg rights. In 1413, Parczew was designated as a venue for Polish-Lithuanian councils in connection with the Union of Horodło.
