Buildings with a History of Their Own
The bathhouse in Park Zdrojowy was built in 1834 and remodelled in 1906. Today it is used as the Dąbrówka Sanatorium. The sequence of construction, remodelling and present-day use shows how the role of a single building has changed over time. Another architectural trace is the neo-Gothic chapel of Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa, next to the Szpital Uzdrowiskowy Mieszko, built in 1881. Neo-Gothic architecture draws on forms from medieval Gothic. The two buildings offer different perspectives: the bathhouse stands out for its history and current use, while the chapel is notable for its style and location beside the hospital. A Historic Journey
The journey to the town is also part of its spa history. The railway station in Długopole, built in 1882, once made it convenient for spa guests to travel there. The history of transport thus adds another aspect of the spa town’s development at the time to its architectural traces.
