Geographical Location

Waksmund lies at an elevation of 565–575 meters above sea level in the Dunajec Valley, below the confluence of the Biały and Czarny Dunajec rivers near Nowy Targ, at the foot of the Gorce Mountains.

The settlement has both mountainous and lowland sections in the Nowy Targ Basin. Its built-up area is bounded by the slopes of the Gorce Mountains and the steep side of the valley.
