Górzno: Trails, lake and history

Górzno offers visitors nature trails, cycling trips, water-based activities and historical points of interest. The landscape is particularly easy to explore along a nature and educational trail with viewpoints. There are also cycling and hiking trails with clearly specified distances, as well as activities for families and groups.

Exploring on foot and by bike

The “Wokół jeziora Górzno” nature and educational trail is about 6 km long and runs partly through Górzno’s town park. There are several viewpoints along the trail. From a hill near where the Górzanka flows out of Lake Górzno, you can enjoy views of Górzno and the lake. The trail is considered suitable for family walks. At about 6 km, it is considerably shorter than the two longer hiking trails that start in Górzno.

The blue hiking trail runs from Górzno to Bachotek and is 44 km long. The green hiking trail to Łąkorz is 56 km long—12 km longer than the blue route. For visitors who prefer cycling, the blue “Centralny” cycling trail forms a 26.2 km circular route through Górzno, Fiałki, Czarny Bryńsk and Bryńsk Szlachecki. This gives you a choice of different distances and both hiking and cycling routes.

In Górznieńsko-Lidzbarski Landscape Park, elevation differences reach 30–40 m in the park’s northern part and around Górzno. The Brynica valley is considered particularly attractive. This landscape adds another dimension to the area’s trails around Górzno.

Water, activities and things to do for children

At Leśna 24 in Górzno, there is a supervised bathing area with water sports equipment rental. The WISIAŁKI sports and leisure complex has four beach volleyball courts. Park Linowy Górzno has six courses. The park is open year-round to organised groups; you must get in touch by phone to use the attractions. These activities offer a range of ways to enjoy an active stay, from swimming and beach volleyball to the adventure park.

In Fiałki, near Górzno, Wioska Mydlarska offers oil and herb workshops for children and school groups. It also holds soap-making workshops where participants make natural soaps themselves. For families and groups with children, these are a hands-on creative addition to walks and outdoor activities.

Górzno received its first town rights in 1327 from Bishop Florian of Płock. The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is also part of the town’s history: it is associated with the activities of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre.
