Archaeology and Art at the Muzeum Regionalne
The permanent archaeological exhibition “Z pradziejów Pleszewa i okolic” is housed at the Muzeum Regionalne in Pleszew. The museum also has a collection of paintings, drawings and gouaches by Marian Bogusz. The exhibits offer different perspectives: the exhibition focuses on the prehistory of Pleszew and its surroundings, while the collection features works by a named artist.
A Cultural Programme in the Locomotive Depot
The Zajezdnia Kultury is located in a restored locomotive depot at ul. Kolejowa 3 in Pleszew. It offers concerts, performances, exhibitions, film screenings and workshops for children, teenagers and adults. The programme may vary. If you are travelling with children or planning to attend a particular event, check the current schedule in advance.
Hiking and Cycling Routes in the Wider Pleschen Destination
The “Leśna Pętla” Nordic walking route runs through Leśny “Planty” Park in Pleszew. The wider Pleschen destination also has two signposted hiking trails: Pleszew–Lutynia–Dobrzyca, 18 km, and Pleszew–Lenartowice–Tursko, 14 km. The four-kilometre difference helps you gauge the planned distance; check the current markings locally if you plan to take the 18 km route. A section of the Transwielkopolska cycling route also runs through the town and municipality of Pleszew, within the wider Pleschen destination.
Historic Sites and Museums in the Wider Pleschen Destination
Pleszew Town Hall was built in 1835 in the Neoclassical style. The eastern part of St Florian’s Church is a Gothic structure dating from before 1444. Pleszew Regional Museum is housed in a former post inn built around 1820–1830.
Other museums focus on a range of subjects: the “Kuźnia Zawodów” Handicraft Museum presents tools, equipment, photographs and documents related to crafts from the Pleszew region. The Bakery Museum explains how bread is made and displays old bakery equipment, including three ovens for bread and confectionery. The Convent Museum of the Służebniczki Sisters displays embroidery, tools and documents from the home economics school run by the congregation since 1923.
The Pleszew narrow-gauge railway is another regional cultural and technical attraction: its station building was built in 1903. A municipal visitor information source from 2025 mentions regular services throughout the year and tourist rides in open carriages during the summer. Check the current timetable before travelling.
