Church and Regional Museum

St. Vitus Church is considered Rogoźno’s oldest church and most valuable historic monument. It is a distinctive point of reference if you are interested in the town’s history. The Wojciechy Dutkiewicz Regional Museum is housed in the listed Neoclassical town hall in the New Town, built between 1826 and 1828. The historic building and the exhibitions give the museum visit its own cultural setting.

The museum presents three permanent exhibitions covering history, ethnography and nature, as well as temporary exhibitions, across more than 350 square metres. The themes offer different ways to explore Rogoźno and its surroundings, rather than limiting the focus to a single area. The museum also offers educational classes, lectures and competitions. If you would like to include historic buildings and exhibitions in your trip, you can choose between a significant church monument and a museum with several thematic areas.

Bathing Area and Lakeside Educational Trail

At the Za Jeziorem bathing area in Rogoźno, you will find an open, sandy beach with plenty of sun. The water is initially shallow, then the lakebed slopes away. This sequence shapes the beach area described here and gives it a distinctive character. There is more to the bathing area than sand and water, however: the “Życie biologiczne w jeziorach” (“Biological Life in Lakes”) educational trail, which is open to visitors, is just 50 metres away.

The educational trail has 18 features, including information boards and games, as well as a world mirror, an educational hut and tables with benches. Its name itself points to biological life in lakes as its theme; the stations combine information with playful elements. Its proximity to the bathing area brings together two different interests: a day at the sandy beach and exploring biological topics. When planning your trip, you can therefore treat time by the water and learning about nature as separate highlights, rather than equating them with a museum visit.

Hiking Trails in Different Directions

Two red hiking trails differ in both length and route. The 16-kilometre trail runs from Skoki via Lakes Budziszewskie and Rogozińskie to Rogoźno. The other trail, also marked in red and 19 kilometres long, starts in Rogoźno and runs via Cieśle, Pruśce, Lake Wiatrowskie and Lake Łęgowo to Wągrowiec. The first is three kilometres shorter and ends in Rogoźno; Rogoźno is the starting point of the second. These different start and end points, together with the places along the way, make it easier to choose between the routes according to your plans.

Two more routes start and end in Rogoźno. The 24-kilometre route runs via Studzieniec, Nienawiszcz, the “Buczyna” nature reserve, Słomowo and Boguniewo. The 27-kilometre route runs via Cieśle, Potulice, Tarnowo, Karolewo and Owieczki before returning to Rogoźno. In both cases, the town is the starting and return point; the places along the way and the respective lengths distinguish the routes. These routes are not classified here as hiking trails; they can instead be described by their course and the places they pass through.
