Forest and water in the Przemęcki Landscape Park

Large fish ponds lie on the southern edge of Zaborówiec. The landscape park also encompasses a system of 24 bodies of water, most of which are connected. There are lakes within a radius of 1 to 15 km of the village; most have beaches, jetties and equipment rental facilities. The water-based destinations described here therefore range from the ponds on the village outskirts to lakes further afield. The park has a dense network of interconnected hiking trails that can be explored on foot, by bicycle, by kayak or on horseback. For a cycling trip, the green cycle route 3 is one specific option: the 17-kilometre circular route passes through Brenno, Zaborówiec, Dominice, Górsko and Miastko before returning to Brenno, and runs through the village.

The Konwaliowy Kayak Trail also runs through the Przemęcki Landscape Park. Its route follows interconnected lakes and makes it possible to traverse almost all the park’s lakes in less than two days. Those interested in this water route can consider it as an option in its own right, alongside trails for walking, cycling or horse riding. When planning your holiday, it is worth choosing a type of trip as your focus: a cycling route through several villages and a kayak trail across the park’s waterways are different ways to experience the landscape.

Local history and culture in the surrounding area

Zaborówiec was founded around 1584 on land cleared in the forest. A road connecting Brenno with Włoszakowice was also built through the village around 1584. The history of a border guard post in Zaborówiec dates from the interwar period. The former post building now houses the Retreat and Charity Centre of the Archdiocese of Poznań. The village also has a brick Marian chapel dating from the late 19th century. The chapel and the history of the border guard post represent different chapters in the village’s history.

The surrounding area offers more inspiration for cultural attractions. A bird sculpture museum is located in nearby Górsko, about 5 km on foot or 7 km by car from Zaborówiec. The Church of St John the Baptist in Przemęt, the Church of St Adalbert in Kaszczor and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Refuge of Sinners in Wieleń are each part of the European Cistercian Route. When planning your trip, you can therefore weigh up nature experiences alongside a range of religious and cultural sites.
