Beverstien is a 1 km activity trail at Sigdal Aktiv’s Gråskei base in Nedre Eggedal. It runs through easy woodland terrain along the river; activities include axe throwing and archery. A concept at Gråskei farm was designed for adults and children. As part of it, children could try kayaking and SUP. Grøset Seter in Nedre Eggedal is a starting point for a hike in the Trillemarka Nature Reserve; trail conditions may vary by season. In summer, visitors can see cows, calves, rabbits, chickens and sheep, among other animals. Rømmegrøt and sveler are also served in summer. If you are planning to see the animals or enjoy refreshments, check the current season and availability before your visit. The Sigdal Museum in Prestfoss was founded in 1940 as an open-air and cultural history museum. The story of the artists is also part of the wider Sigdal area: Lauvlia was the home of Theodor Kittelsen and opened as a museum in 1995. Activities specially designed for children include a children’s trail, painting at the easel and boat building; programme details may vary by season. Hagan is one of Norway’s best-preserved artists’ homes from the Golden Age of Norwegian painting. The painter Christian Skredsvig lived there for 30 years.

Eggedal Mølle opened as a museum in 1997. The grounds include an old sawmill, a watermill, a schoolhouse, a storehouse and a brewhouse, among other buildings. If you want to combine the story of the artists with a hike, you can plan to walk the approximately 10 km Målargutua in Sigdal. It leads from Kittelsen’s former home at Sole (1896–1899) to Skredsvig’s former home, Hagan (1894–1924), and passes Eggedal Mølle. There are information boards, places to rest and picnic spots along the way.
