Maura lies at the foot of Nordåsen, a popular hiking area. Circular routes starting in Maura

One circular route starts in the centre of Maura and first follows Mauravegen to Dal. It is described as a flat, easy circular route, with landmarks between Maura to the west, Dal to the east and Liekrysset to the south. On the return, the route passes Bjørke Church before heading back to the centre. The church can therefore be considered part of the described tour, without being the only possible reason to make a detour.

In addition, two suggested circular routes start and end in Maura, in the north of Nannestad. They are about 45 and 27 kilometres long, respectively. Kringler Farm Distillery is also located in Maura. Together with the ski centre and the tour starting points, it shows that there is more to Maura than any one activity.
