Kamperland is located near a beach and combines several different holiday themes. From water sports, nature and exercise to regional products and historical traces, you will find ideas for actively planned days as well as playful discoveries.
Water Sports on Lake Veere
Schotsman Watersportcentrum features an aquapark with an obstacle course on the water and offers a water-ski cableway on Lake Veere. In addition, Movement Sports in Kamperland offers kitesurfing, windsurfing and wingfoiling courses, as well as other outdoor activities on the beach. Surfschool Veerse Dam also offers windsurfing and wingfoiling courses.
Het Ezelhuis in Kamperland organises group hikes, individual hikes and donkey picnic walks. This complements the water-based courses and outdoor activities with hiking options in a variety of formats.
For families or travel groups wishing to make their days varied, these provide several concrete ideas. Some of the activities are organised as courses, while others combine exercise with time on the water.
Hiking and Cycling Along Different Routes
The Goudplaat hiking route runs through deciduous woodland and along the shores of Lake Veere in the surrounding area. The interactive Parelroute “Kostbaar” adds a playful element: participants answer questions and collect letters that form a word at the end. For shared activities with children, this concept offers a different way of experiencing the landscape than a classic hike.
There is also clear guidance for mountain bike tours. The Noord-Beveland Midden MTB route is 37 kilometres long and marked with signs bearing green arrows. The Noord-Beveland West MTB route is 27 kilometres long and marked with wooden posts bearing blue arrows. The different lengths and types of markings help you choose a cycling route based on your preferred distance and level of guidance.
Nature Between Forest, Shore and Tides
The De Schotsman nature reserve is located on Lake Veere in the surrounding area. It includes sparse grassland, mudflats, dunes and mixed woodland. Another landscape is formed by Oosterschelde National Park, which is constantly changed by the tides and has abundant underwater life.
Historical Traces and Regional Produce
The Veerdam landing pier is an L-shaped jetty that was part of the former pedestrian ferry service to Veere. The ferry operated until 1961.
The regional character is also reflected in the Verscentrum Sandee farm shop. It mainly sells fruit and vegetables grown on Noord-Beveland, including potatoes, onions, broccoli, leeks, herbs and various berries.
Choose a Holiday Apartment in Kamperland Based on Your Holiday Plans
When choosing a holiday apartment in Kamperland, you can use the water sports activities, the Goudplaatroute and the MTB routes as a guide for the mix of activities you want during your holiday. De Schotsman, the Oosterschelde, the Veerdam and the farm shop complement them with nature, history and regional produce. This leaves room for sporty days, playful routes and more leisurely discoveries.
