On 27 August 1983, the mill was officially put back into operation. It turns regularly again, but is no longer used for milling. The peace monument in Nieuw- En Sint Joosland stands in the general cemetery on Westelijke Oude Havendijk. It consists of a column approximately 3 metres high with a carved dove of peace at the top; a fence and four plaques are also part of the monument. It commemorates approximately twenty residents who lost their lives during the Second World War in an accidental Allied bombing raid on Sint Joostland.

From the Ferry to Today's Landscape
