Paasloo combines a glacially shaped landscape with historical traces and signposted paths. The village lies about 7 metres above sea level on a push moraine formed during the Ice Age. The terrain is undulating, and arable fields are separated by hedgerows rather than ditches.

Church, Organ and Cemetery

The church in Paasloo began as a 13th-century chapel and was elevated to church status in 1336. In 1965, it was designated a national monument. Its furnishings include a single-manual organ built in 1920 by the company P. van Dam. The church building therefore dates back further than the organ from 1920.

The cemetery in Paasloo also connects the village with literary history: it is the final resting place of the poet J.C. Bloem. Clara Eggink was buried in Paasloo in the same cemetery in 1991. Landwehr and Landscape

Cycling also embraces the landscape and its history. Landweer Paasloo is a point of interest on the cycling route “Van Landweer tot pingoruïne, fietsen over de stuwwal”. In addition, the “Fietsroute met liefde voor tuinen” begins at the car park by the church in Paasloo on Binnenweg, between junctions 03 and 20. The two route references place different emphasis on the Landwehr, landscape and gardens. The two cycling routes have different focuses: the Landwehr and push moraine on the one hand, and gardens and the church starting point on the other.
