Nature

The Genneper Watermill is located in the historic stream-valley landscape of the Genneper Parks. Various paths lead through nature, including along the Dommel and Tongelreep rivers. The Genneper Parks also have a miniature golf course.

A unique combination of landscape and urban history is offered by the “Eindje Om De Dommel” walking route. It passes green areas such as the city garden and cultural-historical sites such as the factory wall of NV Linnenfabrieken Briel & Verster. With a little luck, kingfishers, grey wagtails and banded demoiselles can be spotted along the way. The walk takes approximately 90 minutes.

Landgoed de Wielewaal encompasses open fields, flower-rich borders and paths through varied natural scenery. During a walk, visitors may be lucky enough to spot roe deer, foxes or kingfishers. The gates of the estate were opened for the first time in more than a hundred years in September 2025, allowing visitors to discover Philips heritage there.

You can cycle or walk through the Philips Fruittuin along the Groene Corridor. The orchard was established by Philips. Visitors can pick fruit there and buy local juice at the Landwinkel farm shop. The Genneper Hoeve in the Genneper Parks also offers organic products, including ice cream.

In Philips de Jongh Wandelpark, paths run between monumental trees. The park is open to everyone. In Stadswandelpark, 30 sculptures connect nature and art.

Culture and History

In Eindhoven, specially designed heritage panels explain both the heritage that is visible today and places and events that have disappeared. They show the city’s historical development. Visitors can use an interactive digital map to plan a route along these heritage panels.

The Van Abbemuseum has an international collection of more than 3,400 works of art, a selection of which is on display in the building. The Philips Museum offers a different historical perspective: it is located in the factory building where Gerard Philips produced his first light bulbs in 1891. The museum is a ten-minute walk from Eindhoven Central Station and can also be reached by bus via the Piazza or Vrijstraat stops. It presents the history of Philips – from electric lighting and radio, through the introduction of X-ray technology and television, to the digital age.

Strijp-S is a former Philips industrial site that has been transformed into a creative district with cultural, residential and work facilities. The former factory buildings, including Klokgebouw, Microlab, Videolab, Veemgebouw and Apparatenfabriek, now house workshops, offices and meeting places.

At Strijp-S, visitors can visit exhibitions, shop for Eindhoven design and look inside creative workshops such as New Order of Fashion and Broeinest. The Strijp design route leads to the technology and design highlights of Strijp-S, Strijp-T and Strijp-R. These three Philips industrial sites were developed between the 1920s and 1950s and now house exhibitions, design studios, creative workshops and innovative companies.
