The Ford Museum Tullekensmolen is also housed in a former watermill dating from 1535, which was previously used as a paper mill. The museum displays a collection of vintage Fords built between 1907 and 1935. In Beekbergen, you can therefore encounter two different historical themes that fit well into a culturally oriented outing.

Forest paths, enken and historic landscapes

The Bekbergerpad runs through the stream valley of Beekbergen, along historic enken and through old Veluwe forests. Another way to experience the landscape on foot is the “Enk en Holt” route. It is 7.5 kilometres long, runs across part of the Beekberger Enk, an old cultural landscape, and continues through the former Spelderholt estate. Its starting point is at the car park opposite De Smittenberg on the Arnhemseweg in Beekbergen.

Remembrance culture at the Exodus Monument

The Exodus Monument in Beekbergen commemorates the Arnhem evacuees as well as the people who took in the refugees and provided them with accommodation. The Exodus Monument is also called “de boom” and consists of a tree sculpture made of Corten steel. An information board next to the monument explains its history in Dutch, English and German. A commemorative event is held at the Exodus Monument every year on 25 September. This makes the site a quiet, history-filled part of your travel plans.

At the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij, you can board a steam train in Beekbergen. The VSM steam train runs between Apeldoorn and Dieren along the more than one-hundred-year-old Koningslijn.
