It was established in 1942 by the Rijksdienst voor de Werkverruiming to provide employment for young men. The Jacobahoeve is the only surviving example of this building type in Fochteloo; it was built in 1708 and is no longer in its original condition. These two historical features complement the bell tower and art sites with a history of labour and construction.
