At the Jurodis estate, a villa from the early 20th century was converted for travellers in 2003.

Cuisine

At Jurodis, the culinary heritage of the Samogitians, influenced by German culture, is preserved. By prior arrangement, a dinner featuring culinary heritage can be ordered at Jurodis. Jurodis’s culinary offerings include food and drinks prepared according to local recipes, such as fish, crushed hemp seeds, Kastinys, mint tea and fresh honey.

At Jurodis in Naujasodžiai, there is an activity involving the preparation of quail eggs, in which the eggs are fried in a special pan and eaten with spices. There is also an educational activity on making rye biscuits: participants knead the dough themselves, shape the biscuits and bake them.

Getting there

From Kaunas, at the 90-kilometre mark, the route follows the main road past a petrol station to the first small village road on the left towards the Nemunas, directly behind the Jurodis advertising sign. From KlaipÄ—da, when leaving the city, a small village road branches off to the right before the Jurodis advertising sign.
