The Ventės Ragas Ornithological Station is located in Ventė at 24B Marių St. It was founded in 1929 on the initiative of Professor T. Ivanauskas and is an important centre for ecological education in the coastal and lagoon region. From 1929 to 2006, the station's staff, together with volunteers, ringed almost two million birds.
