Holiday apartment in Vedelago: Discover culture and the Sile landscape

Vedelago combines a distinctive town centre with Venetian architecture and the natural landscape of the Sile springs. In the centre, the Church of San Martino Vescovo dominates the townscape; the present church was designed in 1926 by architect Luigi Candiani. This means that a stay begins with two clear perspectives: you can discover religious and villa architecture or turn your attention to the water, plants and paths through the landscape.

Churches, villas and Venetian architecture

Near the town hall stands Villa Zuccareda, dating from the 18th century. It belongs to the municipality, was recently restored and was once owned by the noble Zuccareda family from Treviso. On the eastern side of Via Montegrappa, not far from Via Postumia, stands the Oratory of San Mamante, documented since the 13th century. Vedelago therefore brings together different historical references: the municipal villa with its family history and an oratory with a long-standing religious tradition.

In the municipality of Vedelago, near Fanzolo, lies Villa Emo, a Venetian villa created by Andrea Palladio (1508–1580). Since 1996, Villa Emo has been included, together with other Palladian villas in the Veneto, on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The building consists of a three-storey central section with two colonnaded barchesse, complemented by two dovecotes.

In the immediate surroundings of Vedelago, Villa Querini belongs to the palace building type. In the wider regional area, the Museo del '900 e della Grande Guerra and Chiave di volta snc belong to the museum building type, while the Palazzo dei Trecento belongs to the palace building type. Sile springs, Botanical Garden and GiraSile

The natural environment can be experienced at the Porta dell'Acqua and in the Botanical Garden. Together, they cover an area of 16,000 square metres, of which 13,000 square metres are occupied by the Sile Botanical Garden. The Porta dell'Acqua at the Botanical Garden is the starting point for the GiraSile. The GiraSile passes through the natural landscape of the Sile springs between Casacorba di Vedelago (TV) and Torreselle di Piombino Dese (PD). This means that Vedelago can be viewed not only through its architecture, but also through its spring landscape and its different natural features.

In the surroundings of Vedelago, Parco Manin belongs to the park area type. Colesel Val dell'Acqua belongs to the landscape feature type mountain in the surroundings of Vedelago. In the wider regional area, Monte Pallone and Monte Moncader are also landscape features of the mountain type. The different spatial ranges make it clear that the landscape themes extend from the immediate surroundings into the wider regional area.
