Holiday apartment in Cimadolmo – Piave, festivals and history
Cimadolmo stretches for more than seven kilometres along the left bank of the Piave. Fifty per cent of the area lies within the river’s embankments. This landscape shapes the town and opens up travel planning centred on nature experiences, history, regional cuisine and events. When you choose a holiday apartment in Cimadolmo, you can organise your days around the topics that interest you most.
River landscape and trails along the Piave
The Strada dell'Asparago Bianco di Cimadolmo IGP leads to the Grave di Papadopoli. There, nature trails run through the Piave ecosystem. The area is connected to both banks of the river by two road bridges built in the 1970s. This means that both the river landscape and the trails and regional road connections are central to planning.
History by the water
The large flood barrier of Cimadolmo was built between 1884 and 1886 to protect the settlements on the left bank of the Piave. In Stabiuzzo, there is evidence of a Roman military station along the Via Postumia. A ferry in Madorbo can be traced back to Roman times. Near the old ferry landing there is also an Austrian hydrometer dating from 1832. These places connect the history of the river with Roman traces and later water monitoring.
Art and Venetian tradition
In San Michele di Piave, the Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo houses a work by the painter known as El Greco, dating from the end of the 16th century. In Cimadolmo, the Biblioteca comunale “G. Agostinetti” offers reading areas for children and young people, adults, and for the Venetian tradition. Once a month, staged readings for children take place there on a Saturday.
Market and festivals with local character
Cimadolmo’s weekly market takes place on Tuesdays in Piazza Martiri della Libertà and offers fresh local products. Every year in April and May, the Pro Loco di Cimadolmo organises the Festa dell’Asparago Bianco IGP di Cimadolmo. This is followed in September by the Festa del Pesce e delle Nostre Acque. The culinary calendar therefore showcases both white asparagus and specialities from the local waters.
Shared experiences and sport
The Sagra dei Amoi in Stabiuzzo takes place on the first weekend of July at the same time as the religious festival of the Madonna del Latte and is rooted in local tradition. The three-day event includes performances as well as live and DJ music and appeals to all age groups. Also in September, Sport al Centro takes place at Cimadolmo’s sports facilities.

The sports facilities on Via dello Sport include a straight athletics track, a large natural-grass football pitch, an uncovered grandstand, adjoining changing rooms, two artificial-turf pitches for futsal and tennis, and a sports hall. This allows families and groups to create a varied daily routine combining river trails, culture, festivals, the market and sport.
