Villa Tasso and San Bartolomeo

Villa Tasso in Triches is part of the historic and cultural architectural heritage of the municipality of Limana and is listed among the villas of the Istituto Regionale Ville Venete. The very small, strikingly tall building, with its cubic structure, stands in a panoramic and commanding position and is believed to date from the 18th century.

The Church of San Bartolomeo was first mentioned in 1526. In 1807, it was elevated to a subsidiary church of the Pieve di San Giustina di Limana and provided the inhabitants of Triches and Navenze with the sacraments. Frescoes from the early 16th century were discovered on the presbytery wall in 1974. Further frescoes depict the Evangelists and the hieratically portrayed Eternal Father; they date from the mid-18th century. A depiction of the church's patron saint, San Bartolomeo, apparently shows him in a potentially dynamic pose wearing a red tunic resembling a cassock.

Neolithic Traces and Regional History

A Late Neolithic settlement existed in Triches di Limana. It probably consisted of a few huts on level ground at the foot of a hill offering panoramic views over Val Belluna, and was only a short distance from today's centre of Triches. Numerous flint artefacts assigned to the final phase of the Neolithic period originate from the area around Triches, including blades and bladelets, scrapers, burins, awls, flakes, cores and, above all, arrowheads. The Edicola di Santa Barbara is also located in Triches.

In the wider regional surroundings of Triches, on the hill of the same name at the entrance to Valpiana, stood the medieval castle site of San Pietro in Tuba, now completely unrecognisable, on the road from Giaon to Valmorel.

The Anello di Valmorel circular route passes through Triches as well as Giaon, Valmorel, Navenze, Polentes, Ricomes, Dussoi and Limana. It runs on asphalt and roads and includes a short section on a nature trail. Another route leads from Limana to Valmorel via the municipal road through Val Fiera and passes through Cesa, Pieve, Canè, Triches, Navenze and Valmorel.
