Archaeology and history in Corciano
The Antiquarium in Corciano opened in 2009 and is divided into palaeontological, prehistoric and protohistoric, and archaeological sections. It displays fossils of Mesozoic ammonites from Migiana, as well as remains of Quaternary mammals from Ellera. It also contains reconstructions of two chariots belonging to princes, which were discovered in April 1912 near Castel San Mariano in a tomb dating from the 6th century BC.
